maybe they were stripped at the start, increasing the exposure to the elements, the humiliation

are they a terrified mess from the beginning, or do they try to endure with dignity? how long before they're stumbling, barely putting one foot in front of the other? how long before they fall?

Something about it scratches my brain like a kitty getting scritches between the ears. I just. The backstory. The angst. The feelings of abandonment and yet the refusal to abandon. The soul-to-soul understanding despite the secret-keeping. The fact that Bruce is the fucking Batman, he's so capable and dangerous and self-sufficient and really doesn't even need protecting, but Harvey doesn't bother to recognize that when Bruce is in danger and even if he did would it matter? Bruce protects everyone, the action of trying to save Harvey isn't special in and of itself (it's the longing behind it), but Two-Face looks out for no one but himself, and Bruce. Ugggghhhhhhhhhhhh I think I need to write a fanfic
